Baby Milo - got conned in HK !!!

Oh gosh, I got conned in Hong Kong !!!

Recently , I got to indulge myself in a new brand of clothing - BAPE or Bathing Ape !!!

Let me tell you a brief history of this brand : -

The brand was started in 1993 by Nigo as a T-shirt brand, originating in the Harajuku area of Shibuya in Tokyo, becoming one of the first Japanese streetwear brands. The brand was launched out of a tiny Harajuku storefront called "BUSY WORKSHOP". Bape's logo and themes are derived from the original Planet of the Apes movies, while the brand's name is based on a common Japanese saying, "bathing in lukewarm water", describing the comfortable lifestyle of today's youth in Japan.

Of course I like the brand because firstly , it is from Japan :- ) being a FAN of Japanese stuffs , heheh and secondly , the design is stylish - for me lar , some might find it cute or kawaii but to me, it's kinda special !!! ^^

Bape's main focus is on clothing and produces a variety of clothing items, including but not limited to: shirts, polos, sweatshirts, parkas, jackets, denim, and most notably, "Bape Stas," a shoe very closely resembling the Nike Air Force One.

Basically, there is 2 line of clothing , the BAPE line and the Baby Milo line. To me, the BAPE line is much more 'maturedly theme' as compared to Baby Milo which caters more to my liking - a matter of preference !!!

Anyhow, why do I said I was conned? I was quite sceptical in the first place when I got my Baby Milo tees from HK the other day; I thought it was kinda fake but I saw a few customers in the store and they bought quite a number of them , seemingly convinced of the authenticity , and so, I was kinda convinced too because I saw the tag and the zipper bag that the clothes were in, so I thought it was alright and perhaps the HK style of a lil different from the one I got back in Malaysia.

Well, when I walked around the shops and such today in Berjaya Times Square, I saw a lot of stores with the Baby Milo tees and the prices were like RM 10? RM20? My goodness !!! How can Baby Milo be so cheap !!!! When I got back, I checked through the website about those FAKE BAPES and Baby Milo tees and to my horror , I was totally like screwed - sorry for the harsh word being used !!!

To those who wanted to get BAPE or Baby Milo tees , please check through the following criteria when buying !! Else, you will be conned like me !!! Grrrrrr - to those who is selling fakes , can you please dont do it? Or at the least, dont sell the fakes that looked so original !!! Darn...have some RESPECT to the originals !!!! ><

Here are the excerpts from the BAPE website : -

Nearly every BAPE you see people wearing is fake. ( You see what I mean??? ) So frustrating !!!

Below are several other tall tail signs to see if a BAPE is fake:

1. Sizes that are not produced by BAPE ie. 3XL , 4XL
2. Too low a price. As the saying go if it is to good to be true then it probably is.
3. If purchased online, it is most likely fake. Only purchase bapes in stores.
4. Sleeve tag , milo,ape should be centered. for baby milos , inside of sleeve tag should have the word milo with pink,red alternating diagonally
5. Inside lining , should not be fleecy , should feel live woven cotton
6. Stitching , there should be few or no loose threads
7. Color should be vibrant, not dull.
8. Fabric , should be a tight knit , when u pull apart the fabric u should not see any spacing or white
9. Plastic ziplock bag should have a white tab with factory sticker of size
10. All bapes along with that camo tag hanging, are made of very vibrant colors. if they are dull, even for the camo tag, chances are it is fake.
11. All bapes, BUT NOT baby milos have a silver zipper. be careful. recently I have seen fakes with silver zippers. they should say YKK on the back.
12. THE CARE TAG. The care tag near the hip area inside the hoodie should be somewhat the same font. Remember though, some fakes will have the same font.
13. All authentic items are made from the best materials
14. Look for any words not spelled correctly on the CARE tags.

Bkt Bintang - Happy New Year 2008

I have decided to shift my blog from my friendster account due to limitation to the amount of pictures that can be uploaded....

WHAT else is better to start the new year with a new blog and a blog posting about the new year countdown? Unbeatable rite? So, there you have it !!!

The blog starts - NOW.....

Crazy time for new year countdown at Sg Wang, Bkt Bintang....

Frankly speaking, this is the first time I'm attending a new year eve street party....yeah....it was quite an experience....you see, with all the stickiness that you'll get from the sweats and such - ewwwww - due to the massive 'crowd' as well as from all those fancy 'spray foam thingy and such ' - add all this together, and you'll get the Malaysia experience of new year countdown !!! Yupes...I heard that....the countdowns in Malaysia for events like Christmas and New Year (especially) is way better than other countries - mainly due to the 'excessive -warmth' that we as Malaysian exudes....hahahaha.....yupes...we're all one bunch of fun loving , sweat giving - ewwwww (again !!! ) , party crazee people !!!!

Countdown the other day in Hong Kong for Christmas is way too boring - except the crowds which is very much more massive ( app. 300K people) - it cant be compared to the excitement in Malaysia....home sweet home....^^

Happy New Year 2008 - Welcome to a New Beginning !!!

When I checked what they're doing there, they're having this game where you need to guess what songs are they playing and who is the singer....arhhh..I should've just try the game coz it's quite easy....ermm..anyway....

Since the day is still early , I reached the place like around 5pm, I went over to Starbucks and just have a relaxation time while blogging, overlooking Pavillion.....I'm beginning to indulge myself with a new passion - sweet jolly time in a rather posh and cosy setup...ermmm....



First scene: The crowd is getting packed around 7pm.....hehehe......

I even had the time to go around the place and just take a few snaps with my beloved T2

The street is almost packed with people by the time I went over to the street party in front of Sg Wang plaza.....looked at the crowds? They're so crazy....hehehehe.....everyone had crazy times with the fake snow spray.....hahahahah...

This is the scenes during the countdown - time is around 12.01pm..it's totally packed and crazy...hahaha......looked at how close each person is...body touched body...sticky skin touching your own skin...ewwwww....I guess it's gross.....I dont think gals should be there coz they'll definitely 'rugi' if they go there.......you know what I mean....and NOOOOO...I'm not there because I wanted to take advantages k....!!!!
